AUGUSTA INDEPENDENT BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Augusta Independent Schools project involved a short time line and a maximum budget of $2.9 million for construction. Construction bids had to meet both time and value or all would be forfeited. Alternates and competitive negotiation helped reach an acceptable contract, and bonds were sold on time. The project included 12,000 s.f. addition with administration, Pre-K classrooms, science and computer labs, as well as major revisions to the existing 1890 facility to improve circulation, secure access, and ADA accessibility. Work was complete in Spring 2009.

In 2010-2011, a second renovation of the gymnasium, stage area, basement cafeteria and kitchen, re-roof of the existing building and the stand alone music building.
